NEW WEB PAGE CHECK IT OUT!

Crickett Cove Yacht Club launched a new Web Page on November 14th. The new page is loaded with new features and retains the best of the old. The new web page will allow you to keep up with all of the activities at Crickett Cove. You will be able to log on and get the latest copy of our news letter to get updates on our Yacht Club conversion or other events. We would like all of our members to use the message board feature to stay in contact with each other whether seeking to find a fishing partner, coordinate cruising plans, or selling a boat. If you are planning a boating event for your power squadron or other organization,
our message board will be a great place to
post your information. You may even let everyone know about that big fish you just caught!

YACHT CLUB CONVERSION DATE NEAR

Crickett Cove has accomplished a very successful sales record. Our legal counselors should have conversion documents completed early next week, and we can likely begin closings just after the first of the year. Our public Yacht Club marketing program will be launched with the Grand Strand Boat show the weekend of January 18, 19 and 20. This should give all current occupants time to make their reservations before new arrivals option to purchase Yacht Club Slips and/or Dry Storage Units. Further Club Updates Crickett Cove's original plan was to achieve its conversion to a Yacht Club form of ownership by establishing a corporation that would issue equity shares and that with each share would come a perpetual right to the use of a particular slip and/or dry storage unit. Because this form of ownership had been used successfully from a marketing stand point, we had hoped to use it here at Crickett Cove, however our legal counsel, The Bellamy Law Firm, advised against this form of ownership. Their conclusion was based on an extreme level of caution in protecting individual owner's property rights. The other options have not stood the test of time and there was no laws in South Carolina established to fully protect individual owners under a corporation. It is with this advice and counsel that we have made a final decision to establish Crickett Cove Yacht Club through the creation of a Horizontal Property

unwrapped toys for underprivileged children in Horry County. You are all encouraged to participate by bringing your donation to the Marina. North Myrtle Beach High School's ROTC Unit will have students here at Crickett Cove the evening of the Regatta to collect your donations. We are encouraging all to take on the Fish Stew Cook-Off Challenge. The winning Fish Stew will be awarded a cash prize of $500.00. You may enter by calling the marina. Please participate by preparing your Fish Stew and/or Seafood Gumbo. The Stew /Gumbo should offer approximately 40 guests a sample for judging (about three gallons should be enough). Entrants may prepare their stew/gumbo off the site, however, it should be heated and complete the final simmer here at Crickett Cove. Each entrant should have their entry ready to serve by 4:45 P.M. on November 24, 2001. We all really had a good time at this event last year even with the rain. Please plan to participate by entering the competition or just plan to help us determine a winner by showing up to eat. Remember we will have Hot Dogs and other good stuff to eat. Please plan to join your fellow boaters here at Crickett Cove, Saturday night after Thanksgiving, on the Island at "B" Dock.

GRAND STRAND BOAT SHOW AND SALE 2002 SHOW DATES JANUARY 18,19 & 20

The Grand Strand Boat Show and Sale will return to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center again this year. We all hope this will signal an early return for the 2002 boating season. This season's show is shaping up to be a winner. Crickett Cove will be occupying booth 25 along the southern side of the building. Please plan to come see us at the show.

Crickett Cove Marina's conversion to a yacht club has gone very well!

We have now sold 39 wet slips and 30 dry storage units. Compared to similar marina conversions, Crickett Cove has accomplished a very successful sales record. It is with this advice and counsel that we have made a final decision to establish Crickett Cove Yacht Club through the creation of a Horizontal Property 4465 Baker Street Little River, South Carlina Regime (Condominium). With this form of ownership we will offer individual titles and title insurance to protect prospective member's investment. This conclusion was also supported by our banks and financial advisors. It has been the desire of Crickett Cove Marina's developers and owners to create a facility that would stand the test of time and to establish a Yacht Club program under any thing less that the most sound and proven method would be departing from a standard we hope has been established. The conversion under a condominium program will allow the transfer of an insurable title to each member which we believe is the most prudent method of ownership. The condominium owners association will own all the common areas which will be fully described by plats and legal descriptions recorded in Horry County RMC Office (Records of Means Conveyance). This form of ownership will carry all the benefits and weight of any other real estate. The actual day to day operations of the facilities will be the same under the condominium regime as they would have been under a corporation owned by the members. If you have individual questions about the conversion process please call Ed Horton at 843-281-9193. All those who have completed reservation agreements will be receiving packages by mail before the end of the year.
Happy Holidays to All !
